A fantastic night was had by all at the Albyn Foundation Ball on Friday 02 October with over £10,000 being raised to support the Albyn Foundation.

A fantastic night was had by all at the Albyn Foundation Ball on Friday 02 October with over £10,000 being raised to support the Albyn Foundation.

It was a night of glitz and glamour with many stunning dresses and drinks flowing. The sell-out evening opened with a drinks reception kindly sponsored by The Chester Hotel before a delicious three-course meal in the Granite Suite. Compering the evening was auctioneer and speaker, Alex Fleming, who along with his cheeky chappy sense of humour kept everyone in good spirits and bent double with laughter. The night was interspersed with a game of Heads & Tails hosted by Alex keeping everyone on their toes and hoping to win the £100 voucher as well as a Silent Auction which raised over £5000 on a host of fantastic prizes including spa treatments, driving lessons, football hospitality packages, and dining experiences. However the highlight for many was the spontaneous, surprise live auction of prize of Four Ball at Gleneagles accompanied by lunch at the Dormy Room.

Of course, everyone attending was there supporting an excellent cause and had the opportunity to hear more about the work of the Albyn Foundation over the course of the evening. Dr Long introduced both a current and a former pupil who gave moving speeches about how an education at Albyn School has provided opportunities which will benefit them throughout their lives. Hearing about these experiences touched many in the room and truly shed some light on how the Albyn Foundation benefits children.

We hope all those attending had a fantastic evening having danced the night away to Robroy Ceilidh Band with favourites such as the Gay Gordons and Strip the Willow followed by a disco.
