Albyn School celebrates Founders Day

Students and staff were greeted on Friday 27 September at the school doors for Founders Day 2024. Pictures were taken and the event was covered with the help of Albyn’s Magazine and Video Club documenting the day’s events.

The day kicked off with a senior school assembly where Acting Head Mr Starbuck taught our senior students the history of Albyn during Headmaster Alexander Mackie’s time. We learnt the importance Albyn School had in pushing the suffrage movement and its support of women rights in the late 19th century.

At breaktime, the newfound tradition of cutting the special Founders Cay cake was continued. Our School Captains and representatives of the Lower School sliced pieces of the cake that was given to all staff and pupils at lunchtime.
