Albyn School pupils gain valuable experience thanks to STEM in the Pipeline project

Last week marked the end of TechFest’s STEM in the Pipeline project for Albyn School pupils.

The annual event is designed for teams of pupils to compete in a realistic project set within the energy industry. This year, they were tasked with creating an oil field development plan.

The Albyn team were sponsored by BP and worked through complex engineering calculations to be able to create their final proposal. Our pupils were commended on their excellent presentation and understanding of the financial implications as well as the environmental concerns.

While they did not have success in winning the project, they gained valuable skills in communication and an insight into the world of engineering.
