Albyn School pupils take part in TechFest’s STEM in the Pipeline

Six S6 Albyn School pupils have recently attended the launch of TechFest’s STEM in the Pipeline.
The annual event is designed for teams of pupils to compete in a realistic project set within the energy industry. This year, they were tasked with creating an oil field development plan.
Our pupils will use a computer generation software to create contour maps and their knowledge of science to identify where the oil should be located. The Albyn School team will then decide how to extract the oil and calculate the profitability of their plan.
Each team will receive help from an industry professional, acting as a mentor, who can provide advice and support. The Albyn team’s mentor works for bp #albynschool #educatingforlife
