On Saturday 5 February, 15 cadets were selected from the wider CCF RAF section to travel down to CTC Inskip in Lancashire to compete in the Royal Air Squadron Trophy Regional (RAST) Qualifier.
Our cadets came in second place overall for the Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England qualifier and have qualified for the National Finals at the beginning of March.
Cadet Warrant Officer and U6 pupil, William L commented:
“The team has worked really hard and we are all really happy to see that work pay off. We are proud to be the first Albyn team to qualify to compete at the national final.”
The RAST qualifier involved the cadets being assessed in:
– Uniform presentation
– Drill
– First Aid
– Shooting
– Leadership
– RAF Service Knowledge
– Aircraft Recognition
Flight Lieutenant Macklin said:
“I am immensely proud of the cadets and the work they have put in to preparing for this competition. The training for this has been led by the cadets and the time they have dedicated to it has been well rewarded. I look forward to watching them compete on the national stage.”
Well done team!
