Charlotte N was really pleased last week after finding out she had achieved 6 A’s in Higher Human Biology, Higher Chemistry, Higher Physics, Higher Maths and both Higher and Advanced Higher PE. During her time at Albyn, Charlotte has not only excelled in her studies, but she has also represented Great Britain in the World Laser Run Championships and the European Triathle (running, swimming, shooting) Championships!
Reflecting on the experience of studying over the last year and on her recent exam successes, Charlotte relayed that,
“Although it has been challenging at times, the teachers prepared us very well, and by soon after the first lockdown we all really knew what we were doing. I think we all coped well, especially because working from home was new to us all. I think we should all be proud of ourselves that we got through the year and I am very happy with my grades”
When asked what advice she would give to her younger peers, Charlotte said:
“Take the subjects you enjoy and what you think you can cope with. Don’t overburden yourself. Also, pick a wide range of subjects so that if you change your mind with what you would like to study once you have left school, you still have a wide range of options available to you.”
Deputy Head, Nichola Crawford, added,
“I am delighted for Charlotte and what she has achieved not only over the last 12 months but since she joined Albyn in Primary 7. Charlotte has continued to excel academically as well as on the athletics track in middle distance running and Laser Run. In addition to her busy schedule, she has made a positive contribution to our community through volunteering in sport when she has any time to spare. In 2018 Charlotte achieved medals in the mixed relay and individual team event as an athlete at the UK Youth Games. Although now too old to compete in the Youth Games, she will be travelling to Loughborough in September to be an official Games Volunteer.”
