We are very proud of P7 pupil Beatrix who won the Jean Bedells Choreographic Award at the Royal Academy of Dance in London last year. Inspired by the poem Caged Bird by Maya Angelou, Beatrix created and performed her very own fantastic ballet/contemporary choreographed piece which impressed the judges. She was also the youngest dancer in her category, with some of the performers being a few years older.
On winning this fantastic competition, Beatrix said,
“I was so shocked that I won but I was so happy!
At first I was really nervous when I stepped out onto the stage but then I realised everything would be ok. I thought that whatever happens, I went out there and did my best.”
A huge well done Beatrix 👏🏻⭐️💃🏼🩰
