Higher and Advanced Higher Geography pupils enjoy fieldwork activities in the Lake District

Our Higher and Advanced Higher Geography pupils enjoyed a variety of fieldwork activities in the Lake District earlier this term.

They stayed at the beautiful Blencathra Field Studies Centre near Threlkeld. Our Advanced Higher pupils carried out a soil catena in Glenderaterra valley, footpath erosion work in Easedale Valley and tourism impact studies in Grasmere and Threlkeld.

Meanwhile, our Higher Geography pupils consolidated their recent teaching on different types of soils, carried out a land use survey and questionnaires in Keswick and completed a river study of the Glenderaterra Beck.
