Before half-term, both Lower 7 classes visited the Gordon Highlanders Museum to learn more about WW1 and the Gordon Highlanders’ contribution to War efforts. Lower 7 have spent their time learning about some of the major events before, during and after WW1 and are now looking more closely at WW2. During their Gordon Highlander visit, pupils were able to visit a WW1 trench and see artefacts from the time period giving them a taste of what life must have been like to have fought and ‘lived’ for some time on the Western Front. The volunteers working at the centre were fantastic and we appreciate their time, knowledge and willingness to help us learn more from the fantastic museum they have created.
Lower 7 will head out on a walking tour of Aberdeen this term and will learn about how their city, Aberdeen, was affected during WW2.
