School Captain Simi Achieves Top Grades!

S6 pupil and School Captain for 2022-23, Simi O, has had a fantastic S5 year both academically and beyond the classroom. Simi achieved an impressive five A grades all at band 1 in Higher Human Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English and Mathematics. Simi, who is on a bursary and has attended Albyn School for eight years said:

“I’m really glad that Albyn has given me the opportunity of a great school experience. I’m pleased with my exam results and I feel that without the school, I may not have been able to achieve the grades I did. The teachers are supportive and treat us like individuals and provide an individual approach to learning for us all.”

Simi is very much involved in many different aspects of school life. Not only is she musical, taking part in Cappriccio, the Choir and the Orchestra, Simi is also a keen sportsperson playing both hockey and netball while working towards her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. In addition to this, Simi has an interest in current affairs and is an active member of the school’s Modern United Nations club along with the Literary and Debating Society.

Speaking about what she is looking forward to over the next year, Simi said,

“I’m most looking forward to being School Captain next year and supporting my fellow peers”.

Headmaster Stefan Horsman added, “Simi’s achievements are second to none and give her a great platform to do anything she wants to in the future. I am particularly looking forward to everything Simi has to give back in this her final year at Albyn, as well as to working with her this year in her capacity as a member of our School Captain and Vice Captain Team.”
