Toddlers (age 2-3 years), Preschool (age 3-5 years)
The Nursery plays an important role in our School as it is the beginning of the Albyn journey which will take the majority of the children through to their final year of school, S6. The Nursery’s location in the grounds of Albyn School allows our Nursery children to access the School’s sports facilities, libraries and specialist teaching staff who visit for weekly lessons. This familiarity with the school environment and staff eases the transition of Nursery children into Albyn Lower School.
With emphasis on the importance of play, your child will learn language and literacy skills, develop their first steps towards numeracy and build a strong foundation for future learning. We will also instil habits of good health and wellbeing while providing a calm, stimulating and secure environment in which your child can grow in confidence, make friends and most importantly, have fun.
Albyn School Nursery is a registered childcare provision with the Care Inspectorate in Scotland. Our staff are trained and experienced in providing a high quality of care and will deliver your child’s early years education based on the guidelines of the ‘Curriculum for Excellence’. We encourage parents to take a look at ‘Realising the Ambition – Being Me’ which sets out the importance and benefits of bringing our young children together to learn and takes parents on a wonderful journey from ‘When I am a Baby…’ to ‘When I am a toddler…’ to ‘When I am a young child…’
We offer all year round and term time only places. Fees include snacks and lunch and we are happy to accommodate any dietary requirements. The School has a nurse to ensure your child’s health and wellbeing.
