Nursery
With an emphasis on the importance of play, our nursery provides a nurturing start: building a strong foundation for future learning.
Introduction
Located in the heart of Aberdeen’s West End, our campus is continually evolving to ensure our teaching facilities keep up with advancements and offer the best learning environment for our pupils.
Behind our historical facade, pupils access state-of-the-art Science and Engineering facilities, recording studios, soundproofed music rehearsal rooms, dedicated Art and Drama spaces, two libraries and a flood-lit all purpose hard court to name a few.
Our Nursery is bright and airy, located in a separate building with dedicated outdoor space. Our Lower School classrooms flow seamlessly upwards from one floor to the next helping our pupils to grow in independence as they move up through their Primary years. Our Upper School houses dedicated faculty hubs and specialist subject rooms, facilitating learning and pupil movement around the School.
OUR FACILITIES
Our Wood Foundation Engineering and Science Centre provides an ideal environment for pupils to experiment and experience Science subjects first hand. Pupils have access to CAD software and 3D printing equipment before turning their hand to more practical learning in the workshop. They can even join our Formula 24 club and help to build and maintain our championship winning electric cars.
OUR FACILITIES
In 2023 we revealed our brand new soundproofed music rehearsal rooms and recording studio giving pupils and local businesses access to state-of-the-art facilities for recording voice overs, podcasts and carrying out certified exam performances. This is in addition to our well-equipped music rooms.
We stage our school production annually in the Centenary Hall and also host ad hoc performances and rehearsals in the Wood Drama Theatre. Our Art department is spacious, colourful and bright allowing room for our young creatives to flourish.
OUR FACILITIES
At our Milltimber Playing Fields, a short distance from the city centre, pupils have the chance to develop their sporting skills on our pitches, running track and tennis courts. We hold our annual Sports Day and Athletics Championships here for all the family in June.
The School’s location in Aberdeen city also allows us to make use of the amazing facilities on offer at Aberdeen Sports Village to ensure our pupils have the best chance to excel at the sport they enjoy the most.
Our pupils regularly access the nearby Harlaw Playing Fields as well as having opportunities to use the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, Transition Extreme Climbing Centre and Aberdeen Snowsports Centre among others.
OUR FACILITIES
Our Faculty of Additional Support for Learning has a dedicated space where the teachers work with pupils in groups and on an individual basis.
We have a Health and Wellbeing Centre which is home to our School Nurses and Councillor who play an active role in school life, working with pupils and assisting in their health education.
Our in-house Catering team prepares healthy and nutritious meals and snacks in our Canteen and work with our Nurses to ensure allergy awareness and dietary requirements are met.
