We believe that every child should have the opportunity to thrive in our learning environment, regardless of their family's financial situation.
To help make this a reality, we offer a limited number of Bursary Awards for children who may not otherwise be able to attend Albyn School.
Our Bursary Awards are based on both the academic ability and financial need of applicants. We assess each family’s financial circumstance to determine whether a full or partial award is made. As a general guide, Bursary Awards are made to families whose gross annual household income does not exceed £80k.
Sports Bursary Awards are available for passionate and talented young athletes excelling in Athletics, Football or Netball entering S1 and S3, a pathway to excellence, both on and off the track, field or court.
Through this programme pupils will have the opportunity to develop their skills, embrace challenges and thrive both academically and in their selected sports.
Here’s what you can expect from the admissions process when applying for our Bursary Award.
Step 1
Submit your child’s school application for the following academic year and indicate you are interested in the Bursary Award on the application form.
Step 2
After the bursary application portal has opened, our admissions team will be in touch with a link for you to complete an initial bursary application. On this form you will be asked to indicate if you would like to be considered for the Academic or Sports Bursary Award.
Step 3
Your child will be invited to complete their entrance assessment in January/February by the admissions team. Sports Bursary applicants will also be asked to attend a sports assessment.
Step 4
A more detailed bursary application will be sent to selected applicants who are being considered further. These applicants will be required to upload all supporting documents before a given submission deadline.
Step 5
The outcome of your child’s school and bursary application will be emailed to you on Friday 26 February 2027.
“I didn't think I'd ever go to a school like this. The bursary made it possible. I've made friends for life and found a love of science, and now I feel ready for whatever's next. I'm really grateful for the chance I've had.
As a general guide, the bursary awards are made to families whose gross annual household income does not exceed £80k.
