Do you know how many digits are used in writing the numbers 1 to 1,000? The winners of our annual Albyn Primary Mathematics Challenge sure do!
Following the success of last year's event, our Maths department hosted 45 enthusiastic P6 and P7 pupils from five local primary schools (Crombie Primary School, Ferryhill Primary School, Holy Family RC Primary School, Skene Square Primary School, and St. Joseph's R.C. School) as well as from our own Lower School.
Pupils were placed in teams of five, working with pupils from other schools. While there was an element of competition, the emphasis was on working together and having fun with maths. There were several rounds, including some group tasks, a number game and a relay race.
The atmosphere was fantastic and we cannot wait to host next year's event!
