Albyn School’s U14 girls’ football team recently travelled to Ellon Academy to take part in the Scottish Schools Seven-a-side regional qualifying matches.
Team captain Melissa said: “Despite our lack of experience with girls’ football, we managed to beat Fortrose Academy in our second game which was a great achievement as it was one of our first proper football matches.
“Even though we didn’t come first, the way we played as a team and communicated as a team proved that we deserved to play at the tournament and deserved to go to different tournaments in the future.
“I’m delighted that a girls’ football team has been developed and I hope we get to compete against other schools again soon!”
