Aayaan joined Albyn School as a Primary 1 pupil with the world at his feet. Thirteen years later, and as departing Vice Captain of the School, he has received remarkable results in his Advanced Highers and is getting ready to start his next chapter at the University of Edinburgh studying Mechanical Engineering.
Aayaan achieved three A’s at Advanced Higher level this year, having previously secured five A’s at Higher, and therefore cementing his place at the prestigious university.
How were you feeling about opening your results last week?
“I was hoping for good results! I already had an unconditional so there wasn’t the added stress this time round but I’m really proud of how I’ve done.”
How did you stay motivated for your final year at school despite already securing a place at university?
“There was no point in taking my foot off the gas for one year. I knew if I worked hard I would get the results so I kept pushing.”
What’s been a highlight of your time at Albyn?
“One of my favourite memories in recent times is competing in the Lip Sync competition that the school host every year. I’ve got really good memories of it.”
What advice would you give your younger self?
“If I could give my younger self one piece of advice it would be to keep on working, and if you put the work in you will get the results. You have to try your hardest and you will get what you want.”
