Queen's Road 100 Sponsorship Week Launches

Our Queen’s Road 100 Sponsorship Week has officially begun, and pupils and staff across the Nursery and School are preparing to take on a host of creative challenges inspired by the theme of 100. Even better, our four clans – Forbes, Stuart, Douglas and Gordon – will be going head-to-head to see who can raise the most money for the Queen’s Road 100 Bursary Appeal.

As we celebrate 100 years on Queen's Road and count down to our QR100 Finale Event and Sports Day on Friday 19 June, Sponsorship Week is bringing our whole school community together to make a difference, have fun and create lasting memories.

What is the Queen’s Road 100 Sponsorship Week?

The QR100 Sponsorship Week is a school-wide fundraising initiative that forms part of our wider Queen's Road 100 celebrations.

Throughout the week, every class in the Nursery and School will complete a sponsored challenge based around the theme of 100. Pupils and staff have selected and designed their own activities, with each challenge encouraging participation, teamwork, creativity and community spirit.

The week is about coming together as one school while celebrating our centenary year and making a positive difference for future generations of Albyn pupils.

Why Are We Doing It?

At the heart of Sponsorship Week is the Queen’s Road 100 Bursary Appeal.

The funds raised throughout the week will help support our goal of funding five bursary pupils through an Albyn School education, ensuring that talented young people can access the opportunities, experiences and support that an Albyn education provides.

As we celebrate 100 years of learning, friendship and achievement on Queen's Road, we are also looking ahead and investing in the future of our school community.

What Will Pupils and Staff Be Doing?

Every class has chosen its own sponsorship challenge inspired by the number 100.

Our pupils and staff have been incredibly creative with their ideas and have committed to a wide range of activities in the lead-up to Sports Day and the QR100 Finale event.

Challenges include:

• 100 Acts of Kindness
• A 100-Point Fitness Circuit
• Walking Queen's Road 100 Times
• Making 100 Paper Cranes
• Completing 100km through running, swimming, rowing, cycling or climbing
• Creating 100 Origami Animals

These are just some of the many challenges taking place across the school, with every class putting its own unique spin on the QR100 theme.

Clan Competition: Who Will Come Out on Top?

Adding an extra element of friendly competition, pupils and staff will also be fundraising on behalf of their school clans.

Throughout Sponsorship Week, Forbes, Stuart, Douglas and Gordon clans will be competing to see which clan can raise the most money.

Fundraising totals will be tracked throughout the week as clans encourage one another to get involved, complete their challenges and support this important appeal. Which clan will be crowned the QR100 Sponsorship Week champions?

Looking Ahead to the QR100 Finale

Sponsorship Week is one of the final major milestones in our QR100 celebrations before the whole school community comes together at our Milltimber Playing Fields on Friday 19 June for our Finale event. The day promises to be a fantastic celebration for pupils and former pupils, staff and families, providing a fitting conclusion to a remarkable year commemorating 100 years on Queen's Road.
