Faced with a host of creative ideas and unable to settle on just one, the year group decided to embrace them all – taking on 10 different challenges, each linked to the theme of 100.
As part of our Queen's Road 100 Sponsorship Week, pupils across the School are raising money for the QR100 Bursary Appeal while celebrating 100 years on Queen's Road. With clans competing to see who can raise the most and excitement building towards the QR100 Finale Event and Sports Day on Friday 19 June, the S2S inventive approach perfectly captures the spirit of the week: teamwork, determination, fun and community. Here are the 10 challenges they set themselves in support of this special cause...
Challenge 1: 100 hours volunteering
Sadie helped with P1 and P2 athletics, Millie volunteered at the yard, Manuel and Tejesh helped out at their local community centre and Scouts, and Charlotte volunteered at her gymnastics club.
Challenge 2: 100 acts of kindness
From holding open a door, to giving compliments, we collectively completed 100 kind deeds.
Challenge 3: 100 miles
From walking, cycling, running and scooting we logged 100 miles as a form class.
Challenge 4: 100 items
We brought in 5 items each and donated these to Instant Neighbour.
Challenge 5: 100 Wordles
During form class we collectively worked our brains to complete 100 Wordles in 10 minutes.
Challenge 6: 100 words in another language
We were each given a language from Arabic to Welsh and had to say (or sign) the words for please, thank you, hello, sorry and friend.
Challenge 7: 100 x 1 bounce
We worked together to try and keep the ball going between us 100 times.
Challenge 8: 100 metres hopping on one leg
This was great fun and harder than it looks!
Challenge 9: 100 metres wheel barrow race
There were some solid performances here!
Challenge 10: 100 thank you cards
We each wrote thank you cards to people both within and outside the Albyn community to show our gratitude for things they do to make our lives easier.
Our thanks go to form tutors Mrs Lamont and Mr Somerville for their support, encouragement and careful coordination of the challenges. We look forward to sharing more stories from QR100 Sponsorship Week over the coming days, so be sure to follow our website and social media channels for the latest updates.
