Over the course of 12 weeks, a team of S2 pupils – Aakash, Anatole, Ben, Bennet, Hop and Muzammil – participated in the Bronze Level Industrial Cadets programme.
They were tasked with future-proofing a building from the effects of climate change. The group had an external mentor from BP, former pupil Emma Farquharson, as their STEM mentor who provided them with advice on their proposals. The team were also kindly sponsored by telecom service provider Neos Networks.
At their judging event and subsequent graduation on 27 April at the University of Aberdeen, the team were congratulated on their excellent presentation skills and critical thinking. The judging panel also appreciated their use of testing to validate their theory as it demonstrated true engineering. Well done.
