Fiona, who joined Albyn in S2 in 2021, achieved three A grades in Advanced Higher English, History and French, securing her place at the University of Glasgow to study Common Law with French.
Her success builds on an already impressive academic record having previously achieved five A grades and a B at Higher.
Reflecting on her success, Fiona believes maintaining a healthy balance throughout the school year was just as important as the hours spent studying.
"I think it's very important to have balance," she said. "I always made time to enjoy co-curricular activities such as Debating, Model United Nations, Ethics and the Combined Cadet Force. I also looked forward to highland dance classes outside of school. Having those things alongside studying helped me stay motivated and have fun throughout the year."
When asked if she had any advice for younger pupils, she said “cultivate a growth mindset, be bold and believe in yourself.”
Next month, Fiona will begin an exciting new chapter where she is most looking forward to spending a year studying in France as part of her degree.
As she leaves Albyn, Fiona's outstanding achievements and thoughtful approach to balancing academic success with active contributions to the school community provide an inspiring example for younger pupils following in her footsteps. Everyone at Albyn wishes Fiona all the best in her next chapter at university.
