Sabi B (S5), who has been part of the Albyn community since nursery, received her results this week and was delighted to discover she had achieved straight A grades in Maths, English, History, Human Biology and Latin.
Although thrilled with her success, Sabi admitted the outcome came as a surprise.
"It was unexpected. I really wasn't sure at all how I would do, so I'm very happy."
Like thousands of pupils across Scotland, Sabi experienced plenty of nerves before results day.
"I was very nervous the morning before finding out," she said. "I didn't get much sleep the night before."
Of all her achievements, it was her A in Human Biology that meant the most. Despite finding the subject particularly challenging throughout the year, Sabi never gave up and credits the encouragement of her teachers for helping her succeed.
"I'm most proud of my Human Biology result because I struggled with it so much this past year," she explained. "The teachers have been great and really helped me through it, but I hadn't managed to get above a B all year. I relied on their support, as well as the extra revision sessions, to help pull my grade up."
Reflecting on what kept her motivated throughout the year, Sabi said her focus was always on achieving her personal best.
"I wanted to be the best version of myself. I didn't really have a plan set in stone, but I knew I could get good grades if I pushed myself enough, and I've managed to do that."
With her Higher results now secured, Sabi is looking forward to returning to Albyn for her final year before deciding where to continue her studies. She hopes to remain in Scotland and is considering studying Psychology at undergraduate level before progressing to a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology.
"I'm looking forward to my final year at Albyn and then exploring my options for university in Scotland. I'd love to study Psychology and eventually specialise in Forensic Psychology."
Sabi's outstanding results reflect not only her hard work and determination, but also the resilience she showed in overcoming challenges throughout the year. As she prepares for her final year at Albyn, she is well placed to continue building on her success and pursuing her ambitions.
Everyone at Albyn School congratulates Sabi on her fantastic Higher results and wishes her every success as she embarks on her final year and prepares for the exciting opportunities ahead.
