Beacons of Light

06 December ‘22

General

In a week when world leaders turned their attention to achieving the world's collective climate goals at COP27, Drama and Music pupils at Albyn were also exploring the relationship between people and the planet. We welcomed a film crew into school to record two specially commissioned choral pieces performed by the LS Choir and US Vocal Ensemble as well as a wealth of movement
and spoken word pieces generated by a large group of Drama pupils from both the Lower and Upper Schools.
This was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to express their thoughts and feelings around the climate crisis through a creative medium, and to work under the professional guidance of director Di Sherlock.
Watch this space for the nationwide film project entitled Five Beacons of Light but in the meantime here is a link to the Lower School choral piece called No Go Down and also an interview with Di Sherlock. We hope you enjoy!
