Ante Pre-School Fundraiser

We received some sad news recently that one of our children in the nursery has been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).
Affecting mostly boys, Duchenne is the most common yet most severe form of muscular dystrophy and is a devastating and ultimately life limiting muscle wasting disease for which there is currently no cure.
Started by families affected by the disease, Duchenne UK has one clear aim – to end Duchenne. They are doing this by funding research that is focused on getting treatments to those affected now – as well as pushing for an effective treatment in the future.

It is so important for us at Albyn to learn about the condition, and to also raise awareness. We will all work together to show our support to the family and the charity and will organise various fundraising events over the next while.
Last week, some of our nursery children took part in a sponsored Easter Fun Day involving a variety of events. The children competed in an egg and spoon race, an Easter Bunny Jumpathon, an Easter danceathon, and lastly a mini Easter Bonnet Parade. The children walked around the school playground parading their bonnets proudly!
